Nowadays, money is one of the most desired things in the world. You can say that the whole life revolves around them, all the studying, is just to find good work, good work means well paid. We have to settle down in life and ensure ourselves and ours family's comfort. Currently, more and more often situations that people judge others by the contents of their portfolios occur. On the other hand, I heard about the case where a happy man won 14 000 000 PLN in the lotto lottery. The month later his account was empty and he fell into a depression. Summarizing, money is necessary for life, but you have to consider which values are most relevant in human life. Personally I do not like the rat race for money. I prefer to live slowly and have time for something else than work.
How the money are important? It is hard to put metrices on it. Well it is something that we need to posses to live - that is for sure. But money become a problem when people make it the most important thing in their lives at the expense of everything and everyone else. When talking about money we should also remember that money is only a tool. So nothing wrong with money, it is fine to making it - of course honestly. But the most important is what we do with it and what motivation we have behind getting money.
I'd like to share a few quotes about the money:
1) "Money can buy books but not knowledge. Money can buy medicine but not health. Money can buy a house but not a home. Money can buy relationship but not love." 2) "Fools work for money - wise men make money work for them." 3) "Money often costs too much."
I can't agree more with you. Michalina said: "I usually don't give any change to beggars because I always suspect that they are untruthful and that they treat begging as a form of employment."Sometimes begging become lifestyle. People have conditions and can work but they just don't want to work. I think because of that we are more reserved.
Honestly I prefer to "help" beggar, who asks me for some money because he wants to buy a beer, than if he says that he has nothing to eat staying at the doors of monopolistic shop.
I see some progress in Warsaw in beggar matter. Namely there were informative posters "I Help. I do not give." in trams this winter, maybe it is still... I don't pay attention. Those posters informed about forms of help for people who ask for alms and convinced that giving financial support is not good form of help.
I don’t think that I will even be enormously rich. But if I were, I have some dreams. My dreams are rather usual. I would like to visit places that I can only dream about, so my first dream is to travel around the world. Because I like spending time in the outdoors, the second dream is to buy a piece of property and purchase a big house, in which I and my family could live in stately style. I would donate some of my money to starving children and animal shelters. I would also try to enable homeless people to get some jobs. I don't have more sophisticated dreams like getting a trip into space or buying parcel of land on the Moon.
Begging is one of those things that usually provokes many, often extremely different opinions. The problem is too complex to be described with a sentence or two and usually it requires very thorough analysis to see what's really going there.
For example, in small towns like mine there's a good deal of authentic beggars that are seriously in dire need and therefore are forced to beg in from of the church or so. Here in Warsaw it's very different though, you can easily see many "professional" beggars. Back in the past when I still was using trains and buses to get to the University and back home I often noticed the same people over and over again, begging in their usual spots. A good example would be the ladies at Dworzec Centralny. They carry a child with them to stir compassion in the hearts of by-passers. It's disgusting, really.
I really think that begging should be banned in Poland once and for all. There are charities, organizations that are dedicated to help those in a need. We do not need an army of cunning people that prey on the society.
You know, money is so passé these days. Sure, it would be nice to wind a gazillion of PLNs one day, in Lotto or something but in the end those heaps of cash are worth nothing. You'll buy yourself a car, a house, you won't have to work until the end of your life, okay. But at the same time you will reduce the meaning of your existence, the nice things you bought will become less and less meaningful and in the end you will be left with nothing but boredom.
Money is just money, a background noise, you know, a blur that adds very little to you. There's so many more important things around us that are worth discussing and caring about that the stinking green pieces of paper.
I think that presented jobs are necessary. People who decided to work in those professions were aware of risk that they have to take every day at work. I think that there are always some precautions that can be taken to make these jobs less dangerous.
I do not support beggars on the streets. Sometimes I have a feeling that beggars can earn more money per hour than people who work normally. I think that not supporting them is the only way to resolve that problem. Beggars get used to that situation in which other people are supporting them, so they don’t have to work for money like other people. I would suggest government to support beggars but in a deliberate way – beggars should be given help and opportunities to start earning money like other people and try to rely on themselves, not on the others.
Money is important. Without money you can’t provide appropriate way of living for you and your family. I think that very important is to respect money keeping in mind that there are people who have terrible financial problems and people who are working very hard for money. People have different view on money when they have to earn it by themselves – it’s easier to spend money that someone gave us than money that we have to earn working hard.
It is obvious that money is important in everyone’s life. We need money to live, eat and of course enjoy our lives but there are things which we cannot buy, like friendship, trust, love or simply happiness. And those things are of greater importance. Because who would be happy with tones of money if he/she would not have friends or life partner with whom he/she could share his/her wealth?
Although I help beggars as often as I can, I always wonder why those people have chosen this path… Because if I would find my-self in such a critical situation, in which I would be without a house, food and money I would do everything possible to stand on my feet again and improve my situation.

If I would become a multimillionaire I would obviously invest my money first. I would open some fancy restaurants and clubs so that my money would still grow. I would put some of the money in real estate abroad. And then I would have some fun… ; )
I think that nowadays no one will argue that money is a very important part of our lives. Everybody needs a certain amount of money for basic things as food, bills, clothes etc. Of course money can't buy us everything - like some of you already said - you'll never buy true love or friendship.
Does money make us happy? No. It's the things than it can buy us makes us happy ;)
I strongly believe (and know from experience) that stress is not just a word in a dictionary but a real problem affecting many people's lives. When a stressful situation is coming up I try to do something that will divert my attention and stop make me focus on my stressful feeling. I would recommend a simple chewing gum or a little toy.
